In the current times of litigation and sensational journalism that focus on the negative, the adversarial nature of the relationship between educators and families of children with special needs is understandable.

But there many fantastic examples of COOPERATION and PARTNERSHIP between families and educators.
Here are a few in our state!
Local Jefferson City area parent group is organizing the first "Educator Appreciation" event on November 11 from 4 -6 pm at the Truman Hotel.
The purpose of the event is to highlight partnerships between families and educators, and to bring awareness to some local and state resources for supporting individuals with autism. It will be a "happy hour" setting, with food/drink, with resource tables available, no formal presentations.
Educator info will be available regarding autism resources and also door prizes will be awarded to those in attendance!
